Symposium 2017



The Health Care Forum of Faculty of Management organised a one day Symposium on The Health Care Sector-Transition , Innovations and Challenges on 25th March 2017. Convened by Dr. Subhash Sharma and organized by Dr. Kulvinder Kaur, the Symposium was attended not only by the students pursuing BHMS, BHMS, BDS, B.Sc., M.Sc. courses but also by the individuals from Pharma Sector, Pathologist, Nursing Staff, individuals holding executive or managerial positions in various medical institutes, who intend to build a career in Health Care Sector.

The Focus segments of the Symposium were divided into four themes viz-

  • Theme: Pharmaceutical Industry :The Changing Structure
  • Theme: Complementary and Alternative Medicine :A Healing practice Approach
  • Theme: Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care
  • Theme: The Changing Scenario of the Health Care System.


The program started with an inaugural ceremony, followed by a brief introductory note by Dr. Subhash Sharma, convener of the program about the Symposium and the Master of Hospital Administration program under which this program was organised.

While delivering her welcome address, Dr. Prof. Mahima Birla, Dean, Faculty of Management, told the participants about the forces that are expected to have the most positive and negative impact on the Employability, Profitability,Business Opportunities and Development of the health care sector in the coming years.

Dr. Udichi Kataria, the first Key note speaker of the Symposium created awareness among the students about the Changing Structure of competition and increased competitiveness in Pharma Sector and the latest Trends and Innovations in Pharma Industry.

Dr. Iqbal Gaury Khan, the second Keynote speaker provided knowledge to the students about Ayurvedic Herbs and Drug Development and Integrating Modern and Traditional Medicine.

The next Keynote for the Symposium was delivered by Dr. Nabila Rehman on Ergonomics and the control of Musculoskeletal Disorders and the Cognitive Ergonomics Issues.

The knowledge of the Changing Scenario of the Health Care System was given by Dr. Zafar Khan.

The program ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kulvinder Kaur and the participation certificates given to the students.

Participants found the program very informative and meaningful for their career growth.
